South Jersey New Years’ Eve Guide 2013

“New Year’s is coming up.”

And the stress builds.  Don’t worry, we have you covered! Check out our survival guide to New Year’s Eve in South Jersey.  Family events listed first, then adult parties.

FAMILY EVENTS:

New Years’ Eve Splash at Adventure Aquarium • One Aquarium Drive, Camden. (856) 365-3300. Tuesday, December 31, 2013 from 5 pm to 8:30 pm.  $30.00 Adult, $25.00 Children ages 2-12, Free Children under 2

Ring in the New Year “family style” at our second annual New Year’s Eve Splash. In addition to offering exclusive access to the Aquarium’s 200,000 square feet of space, 2 million gallons of water and 8,500 animals, guests of the New Year’s Eve Splash can take advantage of dressing up for the occasion to enjoy family-friendly music and activities, up-close animal encounters, character appearances and a special New Year’s Eve “Countdown” Dance Party. Kids 12 & under also receive a free gift. Enjoy premium views of the City of Philadelphia and its iconic New Year’s Eve fireworks celebration at dusk (approximately 6:00 pm) from the Aquarium’s scenic Waterfront promenade.

This family event celebrates the arts. Headliners include ABBA-Mania, The Unexpected Boys, The Unexpected Surfer Boys/Beach Boys, The Depue Brothers Band, Gregory Grene’s Acoustic Mix, and many more musical, dance, comedy & kids entertainers.

Beginning at 6pm, free shuttle buses are available to transfer participants to locations along the event course. Shuttles run about every 15 minutes and include stops at the Methodist Church, Central/Middle School, Kings Court Gazebo, opposite Starbucks, Indian King Tavern, Haddon Fortnightly, and Haddonfield Memorial High School.

First Night Burlington County 2013: Year of the Snake  •  Mount Holly, NJMonday, 31 December 2012 5:30pm to 9:30pm. Entry Buttons will be required for all indoor venues; buttons are two for $13. 

A Fun, Safe, Affordable Community New Year’s Eve Celebration in historic downtown Mount Holly. Entertainment includes outdoor statue “Lilith Lore,” snake conga line on High Street, fireworks visible from all of High Street, paintings of folk artist Hugh Campbell, snake ice chair, a facade video light show, tours of the historic prison museum, glitter/ airbrush snake tattoos, opera music by Katie Kat, story telling by History on the Hoof, ole tymey-gypsypunk-cabaret music of This Way to the Egress, jazz/soul by Lili Añel, “The Story of Genesis” and light show, DJ Cass spins tunes all night long and much, much more!

Entry Buttons for sale, starting December 15th, at The Prison Museum (128 High St), Mugshot Diner (65 High), and Red, White & Brew (33 High), plus the Burlington and Moorestown YMCA branches.

Battleship New Jersey • 62 Battleship Place, Camden, NJ 08103 , 6:00pm – midnight. Tickets are just a $10.

Experience the unique view of the New Year’s Eve fireworks over the Delaware River — from the decks of our nation’s largest battleship!  Enjoy music, dancing, food and bar concessions, and guests can even take a chance to fire the 5-inch portside gun after each fireworks show!  For tickets, call 1-866-877-6262 ext. 107 or visit the Battleship’s Ticket Office during tour hours and prior to each show on Dec. 31.
